Even if you seek financing through a dealership, they'll normally try to find you a lender who'll provide the best rate. Unfortunately, you'll likely be treated as a first-time buyer and get a double-digit interest rate. Don't fret it, though. Figure out what you can pay per month, get the car in that range then in 6 months, refinance that sucka. Just make sure you NEVER get behind in payments.

....if it even matters to them on how much my bills are...most of my credit card statements were in the $300-$500 range....

Good deal... that'll probably work well in your favor. The best thing you could do, IMO, would be to find a credit union to finance through. They way more flexible than a bank.

dont take the first 3-4 deals offered at delaerships and after you sit down to talk numbers, get up and thank them for their time and then the good offers start coming in. if your buying used then there isnt as much room for negotiation as a new car would. usually used car loans interest rates are higher by a percent. get a co-signer too if you can.

try a credit union but best bet is to get it financed thruogh the dealer since they pull alot of banks when they run your credit and can find who can finance you with diffrent interest rates.

Oh yeah, the older the car, the higher the interest.

dont put a down payment either, or at least dont offer one. when negotiations get tough they will go see their manager and offer you payments, etc. and when you are tired just say, "look, all i have is $150 in my pocket and i want payments aroun $350 like i told you. take it or leave it"

So that's you over there huh? I was wondering whose bikes those were at Acura.

Anyways, I bought my Bullitt from Champion Ford, and i was there for 6 hours trying to buy the thing. That finance manager sucked , and came back with a 10.9% rate. I was so I was there for so long I just said whatever, and in a few months went to my credit union and it was cut by a little over half, which helped me save a little over $70/month. Weird part was I've had a lot of credit, and I'm in the high 700's beacon. I knew what I wanted, and didn't ask for any special treatment in any way.
