You do realize that those switchbacks are the only way to get up that hill with any kind of manageable grade? That is about a 70 degree hill...

Plus a lot of those roads were mule trails at one time, carved out by hoove.

I love those roads. Mt diablo had switchbacks on the Danville side and it costed 2 dollars to 'park' at the summit or at rock city.... so everytime we did any type of modification to our cars or bikes we rode up there

The rangers drove around in ford Rangers and the only office post was in the mid section of the roads, only gates on the beginnings; so they couldnt call ahead unless there was a ranger already up the road

Prolly 1st gear! There is one curve in the Hill Country thats like Laguna Seca's Corkscrew. I couldn't get any power out of 2nd and had to down shift to 1st

Those curves in the last two pics are rediculous...Looks like they are 2 tight for two wheels to have any fun...now if you were on a shifter kart and you could slide thru each one would be the best way
