i need a long life tire what are ur thoughts

im still a beginner, this bike being my 1st. so i dont take corners all fast and things i mostly stay up, on the highway. no real fast corners ever (yet) i would like a tire to last me close to 10k (if possible) i know most of you guys get 3-5k on your tires so im thinking 10k for what i use the bike for is reasonable

keep in mind im still new and learning so sooner or letter i will be going faster so i dont want a tire that i will bust my on .....

1st one that came to mind is pilot rd 2's

Bridgestone BT021. Great wear, it's a dual compound so the sidewalls have good grip and it handles well in wet or dry.

i swear by the pirelli diablo value street for any bikes they fit on.

just some things to make you think here...

how long is it going to take you to get 10k miles of seat time? where are you going to be in 5k miles of seat time, and what season will it be?
spring is around the corner, you are likely to ride more often and more agressivly. high mileage tires sacrifice some traction for tread life. traction is a good thing.

for a sport bike, i dont recommend a fully mileage oriented tire, go with something in between, like the dual compound patrick mentioned, or the diablo values (a great all around tire imo)

if your getting 10k out of tires on a sportbike....seriously, sell the bike and buy a bicycle. or on a more serious note a scooter like a burgman or similar.

Avon Storms are a great all-around tire that will get you 10K+ mileage (on FJR 1300) and give you great confidence in both dry and wet conditions. And the well-rounded profile of the front tire means they turn-in very well.

I am on my 4th set either on the FJR and SV-650s.

I'm very happy with my Pilot Road 2 CT's, but I haven't ridden on the others - they're likely all pretty good these days...

I'll be getting something else for track riding this year though...
