I'm pretty off with my new bike so far

I bought a brand new WR450f and it has just been a pain the one WHOLE day I've had it.

They said it needed a carb adjustment before I could take it, so I waited for them and then brought it home when they said it was ready to go. Well I don't know anything about dirtbikes so I didn't question anything about it since I figure they know what they are doing.

I bring it home, start it up and take it for a ride... well it's super sluggisg, no power at all. I KNOW it has to be faster than this, I mean.. it was bad. So I figure I'll just leave it at that for now and try it again today. So I get home from work and try it again... well first off it doesn't start.... I try to push start it and it doesn't stick. So F it, I take out the battery charger and charge it up and when it finally starts up it wont stay on without the choke off.

I mean what is the ****in deal, seriously? It will start up with a charge, and I'll let it idle for 2 minutes and as soon as I cut the choke off, it starts to die. The fuel gate is open... I don't know what else the problem is

Anyone care to chime in and take me out of this bad mood?

Do they still have the throttle stop and grey wire on this bike? They used to sell the wr's with a wink and a nudge (to pass sound and EPA) knowing you will get it home and do a couple of free mods to open it up.

Sounds like the carb got varnish in it sitting on the showroom. It probably just needs cleaning, either that or whatever was "adjusted" isn't right.

I had a 2000 WR400F, that thing would power wheelie in 2nd gear.

I know this sounds simple, but have you adjusted the idle up?

Feel free to call me, I've struggled with mine, and (with help from Patrick) have it working pretty good now. (281) 703-0296

Pilot jet?

Don't feel bad, I'm having holy with my new to me KTM (the won't start).

At this point, I'm gonna call Motorcycles Unlimited on Saturday and see if they wouldn't mind looking at it.

Maybe we can convince Patrick to do a dirt bike/SM basic maintenance class for all of us noobs.

Best of luck, I'm sure it's something small like dirty carb. But either way, you shouldn't have to be dealing with it.
