Okay I'll bite.

In the 1970's the Shah of Iran was the leader and a hardcore ally of the US. In 1976 my dad was going to teach firefighting technology there. We were going to have private teachers, live in an American type city and he was going to be making more than 100k a year back in 1970's dollars when he was only making $600+ a month as a Houston Firefighter.

1979 Jimmy Carter got the ball rolling to allow the world to go down the yellow brick road that we now find ourselves in.

Rumy and Cheney may and probably did grant the iranians to obtain the techno goods for the project but it was under the condition that it was going to have been with an ally. Why do you think the Israelis used their brand new F16's to dispatch the reactor and flew through iraqi and saudi airspace to get back home?

The picture of the world was a completely different perspective in the 1970's and I think that even jimmy themanwithoutaspine carter would even agree with that point now in hindsight.

Chavez needs some acute lead-poisoning anytime between now and let's say the next 15 mins for sure. He's doing what castro and the sandanistas couldn't do in the 1970's-1980's in quick form. Your freedom and our economy depends on what's happening NOW, we can't afford another day of the sh*t that's going on in Washington and here on our borders today.

Also, Paniro, when you were pointing out the grammar correction tactic of your opponent you broke a grammar rule yourself - you used the following split infinitive: "to hopefully help." I found it ironic. Hope this is helpful next time you get into a high-intensity political battle.

my 2 cents: Chavez is in bed with Iran; he is an enemy of the U.S.; he has long been a friend of Cuba, the Russians etc. He wants the U.S. dead. His prob: he is too weak. So tells our sec of state to "shut up little girl" and takes little jabs at us from afar, but push comes to shove, we could squash him militarily and he knows it. As for our reliance on Venezualan oil - self imposed and unnecessary . .. we have plenty of oil here if we need it.

I find it repulsive that ppl point out Chavez's humanitarian efforts (which are strictly show, and the evidence is that these same ppl fail to a)recognize his numerous atrocities against humanity, and b) recognize how much good the US has done and is doing in the world . . . far more monetarily than all other countries in the world combined!), and his 8 democratic victories . .. ignoring the history of corruption and arguable evil this man has wrought on the world.
