why not?? i've been running the same aluminum sprocket for 1.5 years. it's not even a name brand. i bought one from rockwall honda pretty cheap, and its been amazing....

however, i opted to run 530 chain and sprockets, with a good oring chain...the sprocket is STILL lasting, and rarely ever adjust the chain, cause it never stretches....

i dont know what setup your running, but i always run 525 or higher...oring only chain and dont let my chain get too loose. 520 coversions suck. and are for dirtbikes...

steel sprocket last hella long, but i try to get a kit where the chain and sprocket lasts the same amount of time, and never run used sprockets on a new chain or vice versa

p.s. EFF vortex, they are overpriced .

I've used vortex aluminum sprockets well into 10k-12k miles. I also cleaned and lubed my chain every time I washed the bike, which when I rode daily was about once a week.
