ZX6R or ZX10R

So my brother has been riding a ninja 500 for 3 or so years now and is now going to upgrade...his question is the ZX6R or the ZX10R...????

What are your thoughts....

My opinion is the 600 will be plenty fast enough and should be easier to handle and also will save a vew $$$. He is short and fat (looks like Shrek) so he wont be taking track days too seriously, mainly road riding. Oh and he lives in Florida if that makes a difference.

What are your experiences with either bike?

Had a ZX-6R and have a 10R. Zx-6R all the way!

Gary also has both currently and since he has done trackdays he can tell you why.

10R is an unforgivable beastly machine on the street. Makes life interesting though lol.

Oh wait I change my mind. I am short and fat, not green like Shrek or have trumphet style ears, but I also ride like I live in Florida.

10R gets my vote now lol.

The ZX-6R i had was an 06 636. Bike had good grunt, but then again I weighed 40lbs less when I got her. Fun to ride, turned with ease. Very capable machine. I know of one that has been crashed several times and is currently alive! Even has hurricane damaged plastics on it lol.

My current 08 10R is deceptively fast. Only way I can describe it is like a sewing machine. Keeps going faster and faster and then you realize that you're in way over your head and your grandmother is trying to stop it as you sew the tip of your finger into the hem she was trying to teach you. Serves her right I was only 5 years old! Oh wait I am offt topic here...
10R is crazy. I have to manhandle it after a certain point in the corners, then after that it falls over. Like any other liter it deserves much respect!

florida has no curvy roads.... so that is a non issue. the 10 might be too tempting to open it up on those long straights. he should prolly get whatever he is more comfortable.

Im biased towards the 10R, although i'm sure coming from the 500 that the zx6 would be enough to keep him entertained. Especially if hes getting the new one

from 0-100 I dont think that the 10 is gonna get much ahead, the 6 is still sick fast, weighs less and handles easier. Top end yeah the 10's gonna take it. Now if he's trying to pull chicks, the 10r might get a little more notice.

i dont see chubby doing a lotta agressive twisties. requires too much moving around, just throwing a leg over is likely to get him out of breath.

10 for the street, 6 for the track.

I got both 600 and a liter bike and prefer the 600 on the track, but like the torque of a 1000 on the street. Cruise around all day in 5th or 6th .

I went from an ex500 to a ZX636 and still have the 636. I have ridden a buddies CBR9XX and GSXR1000 and the grands are sick fun. My next bike is a 1000 mostly for city riding that i can do almost any city speed in 2nd gear.

I vote the 600 from personal experience. I know it has the power and are alot of fun and still get pucker moments. A 1000 imo is a totally different league but going from a twin 500 to an inline 4 is also a different field.

ZX10 ALL THE WAY. IF YOU CAN'T LEAN A ZX10 YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO SKILL. Only 600 that has ever put a smile on my face was the 2009 ZX6R. Trust me if you get a zx10 the only time youll look back is to see how far you lost everyone.
