New from Groveton/Huntsville/Woodlands

Hey everybody, I've decided to join motohouston. I live in Groveton (Never heard of it? Neither has 99.9% of the world.) but I attend college at Sam Houston in Huntsville, and my parents have a place in the woodlands, so I'm all over the place and can be considered in the Lufkin/Huntsville/Conroe/Houston area at any particular point in time. Hopefully that's enough to at least be considered part of Houston LOL.

Anyways, I went on a ride a few weeks ago with Snow and a few others who I found out were part of some kind of a "motohouston" thing or at least a few were. I didn't have a clue what motohouston was until then, seems pretty good to me.

I have a 2008 Ninja 500. It's my first bike, bought it in July '08 and have approx. 8200 miles as of now. I plan to move up to a bike that's "up with the times" (FI, dual front rotors, etc.) sometime in the summer. Maybe a ninja 650 or fz6, not sure yet...hopefully this gives enough info for people to know a little about me. Any questions? Hit me up.

Hey man!

I got all excited when I saw Huntsville, then it was a downer to find out I already knew you.

Me and Brian (the other guy wit us) have been on quite a few rides since then.

I actually just hit up Livingston too.

When is the best time/day for you to ride? You really should ride the forest on a non-wet/cold day.

My ninja is actually for sale for the right price too. Deux, from the 500 forums, is thinking about it sometime in Jan, but I am always down for offers.

Welcome to the family.

As for getting something 'with the times' sure its nice, but its also nice to blow the doors off people w larger, newer bikes w experience; as most bikers lack this quality to their ride. See our track day organization sponsors for details

Along w/ what cali said:

Get some track gear and come tracking wit me and Brian in March.

Several members from the 500 board track their 500s. We're not going to race, just going to learn how to ride. Maybe you should try the 500 a couple times on the track, and then decide if you really wanna upgrade.

I forget what they will give you free, but I think ridesmart will rent you boots, gloves, and suit free the first time you track.

The suit may not be free, or the gloves or something... There might be some rental fee, but it is possible just try it without buying all the stuff.

I already decided I'd love the track, but it took me about 2 months to get all my track suit, boots, and gloves... and over $1K.

Hit me up if you are interested in joining us in the new year of tracking.

Welcome to MotoHouston. Lots to see and do.

If you ride with Snow then you're doing it wrong! LOL...

Don't be a stranger... join the rides, make the meets, visit the sponsors, wear your gear, don't become a douche and make sure to contribute info when you can!

Enjoy!

My grandma has some land in Groveton off of Kickapoo. I would spend every summer in Groveton when I was a kid.

Groveton? Who hasn't heard of groveton? I frequent BJ's Bar just on the other side of Brookshire Bros. when I come up to visit my pawpaw (he's from Pennington)....welcome to the site.

I'd live out there if I didn't have to work...so peaceful.
