I dunno, maybe I'm different but I'd rather have a bone stock 08 with lower miles bike than a modded 09 that's been down. If the price on the 08 is right that's the one I'd want.

Do you have the ability to ride them both? That might help with the decision process.

Yeah, thats what i figured! Thanks man! And like i said, after taking the second look today with my buddy at how clean this thing really is other than the very minor things i noticed on my hands and knees, no way i could pass it up. My buddy didnt even notice the things i did. He thought it was MINT if that tells you anything! lol I think Im just way too critical for my own good. It runs and rides perfect!

Not only that, the fact that its a year newer, has almost $2000 in extras including almost brand new Pilot Powers, its the color i want and I dont have to worry about the oil burning issue with the 08's was enough to make my mind up.

Obviously! Lots of good deals out there right now cause its winter, market sucks and lots of people are looking to get some money back for what they spent on X-mas im sure! The guy im buying this 09 from needed the cash pretty bad and i knew it so it gave me a big advantage.

And hey Gary... im not knockin the 04. I know that things a beast! If i wouldnt have found this deal, id be on one right now... lol

Ill post some pics asap. Gotta get it picked up and wait for the weather to clear so i can clean it and take pics.

Yeah, lots of people would have probably gone that route but my biggest concern with the 08 was the oil burning issue. Regardless how clean the bike is, if it has that issue, it puts me in a worse position than dealing with a few minor cosmetic flaws. Not only that, id plan to mod the 08 the same way so it saves me the $2000 buying all the mods new.

I didnt ride the 08 but i rode the 09. Didnt really get a good chance to open her up like i would have liked to but i can tell it handles great, its light and its RIPS!! Way more spunky than the 07 10R i had and the 10r had full exhaust, air filter, -1 counter sprocket and PCIII! This bike just has a slip on performance wise... lol The 10R might pull harder on the top with the mods but for the low and mid-range i got to feel, the 1000RR would dominate it.

The mid range is pretty strong on the '08/'09 CBR 1K. You can get the Bazzaz Z-Bomb to get back the top end that is restricted for the US models.

Sweet!! Do I need to run it with a PCIII or is it plug and play by itself? Require mapping/tuning?

Only tuner I have experience is the PCIII. Ran one on both of my last bikes. Im new to the Honda world...

The Z-Bomb is plug and play by itself. A Power Commander is good for tuning but not required.
