2006 r6 won't start

Wzup All,

I tried to start up my bike last night and i wont crank up. I put a battery tender on it, so I know it's not the battery. It will crank up a little bit but it won't catch to start. Any ideas or suggestions on what to do???

Thanks

tenders don't always save batteries

try to jump it from a vehicle with the vehicles engine off, do NOT start it. it isn't awesome for bikes charging system but it will let you know if its able to start with a capable battery.

Open the throttle about 5% and keep it open at that and start the bike. If your bike is not turning over, then go get a new battery.

Batteries can lose cranking amps without losing much voltage...

If it is still cranking slowly, the battery still doesnt have a charge.

It should be cranking fast first. More then likely that battery is weak and the tender wasnt capable of charging it but just supply a surface charge. Follow Chase's advice about jumping it w a vehicle.

If it cranks the safeties are working properly. Fuel/Spark check after you know the battery has enough amperage to turn the engine over at a proper speed for ignition(remember the battery drains when the starter is operating. Even though the battery is cranking the starter sub 9v is not enough power for the injectors or coils to provide adequate power to the actuators.)

(info based on the OP's "cranks a bit" statement.)
