Looks to me that he just accelerated hard and went wide which he would have done whether there was oncoming traffic or not

That vid sends chills down my spine man... that's a really common mistake and there's really no second chance with something like that, I guess.

Sad indeed, but strictly rider error, most experienced riders never even look at the truck, they are looking around the corner where they want to be in 2 seconds, he could have easily leaned that bike way over and never crossed the line, too bad, he was inexperienced for sure

Yeah, that's incredible... very chilling. I was going to sell my bike and get a 600 cc super sport and was out on a ride wit my buddy a couple days before the sale and he crashed and totaled his bike. That was enough to make me not upgrade, but also think about riding in general.

Looks like the camera man wasn't too afraid of the center line either though. He starts probably after it, but this is from the first frame of the youtube video:

cameraag

Looks like he is at least touching the line.

I used to catch myself looking at big trucks like that in turns. Scared me. I had to train myself to ignore all oncoming vehicles. Even now, I will catch myself wanting to look at them and I have to force myself not to.

So you have seen a childhood friend die in front of you from riding? Doubt it. This video can't possibly capture that feeling for you.

If you actually have physically seen a buddy of yours die, sorry for the judgment.

Every time you swing your leg over that motorcycle you should know it could potentially be your last time...and the same with your friends. If you're not comfortable with knowing that, you shouldn't be doing it regardless of who or if someone died in front of you. The only thing you can control is how ready you are to be on a bike. If you aren't ready to accept the possibility, sell your bike. If it takes a friend dying in front of you, it was already too late. That' just my honest to opinion. May be harsh...but that's my outlook.
+1 I'm with Dr Awkward. If you don't think you can die on these machines you don't belong on one.

And YES I have seen my friends die, so you can save the speech about how I SHOULD feel.
