Lightbulb Detective sub forum?

Seems like MH has a few detectives on the board...

Anyway we can create a sub forum that no one will ever see so they post up CL links?

Just a thought.

I saw a bike the other day that had a lost title. I was gonna post it here. It looked just like a bike that was reported stolen here. It was 2 years older and a different color. I swear it could have been the same bike. Someone beat me to it though.

it would be interesting to know how many people actually get thier stolen bikes back? I am guessing its under 2%. I know whe nmy 89 1100 GXSR was stolen I got it back 3 years later when Sams Cycle tried to sell the frame. I got it back and all it was, was a frame and waterlogged motor. If I had known that I would not have paid $325 to get the hunk outta impound. Anyone ever had any luck recovering a bike, even with the help of a motohouston detective?

HPD recovered my 750 about a year after it was stolen.

my buddy got his bike back a few months after it was stolen from our apartment, found behind a chop shop with only slight damage (1 scratch on fairing, 1 scratch on exhaust, broken footpeg)

I saw the 00 ZX6R that was stolen from me in 00 on a ride one day. It was a trip to Mexico with about 20 bikes. I looked at it thinking it looked just like mine. It was without a doubt mine. I did a job cutting the rear fender off. It still had the biohazard sticker on the screen. The guy who rode it is/was a member here. He said he bought it and I believed him. It was taken with 3k and mi. and he showed 7k. It must have been sitting somewhere for years.I didnt care anyway. Ins had paid it off. The cops showed up due to an informant saying we were racing. They ran the plates and they were clean.
