I have no idea what will be going on with my schedule in the Spring time, but this sounds like something I'd be interested in. . .

Lol, that yellow vfr pic was funny

I've ridden Arkansas twice. This is a great ride, particularly when the weather cooperates.

Here's a link to an article, "Motorcycle touring for Beginners", with some lists and tips if you haven't taken a long trip on a bike before.

http://www.visi.com/~dalebor/index.html#contents

I usually refer to it before every long trip.

Sign me up! This ride sounds like a piece of cake compared to the last road trip I did.

Feb is Africa for me, and I am sure we'll be doing something later on.

hmm... doing daytona the first week of march, but if this is any other time i may just have to try and do this too. guess it really depends on my work situation at the time.

i took my first long bike trip back in oct. '07 (biketoberfest) and we camped at state parks all along the way, went to key west before actually riding up the east coast to daytona, did about 3300 miles total. unfortunately there was lots of interstate riding, and not very much twisty stuff.

Misery Quotient

Doing a little math here, from Jim's routes it looks like about 960 miles of transit (for me anyway) for about 600 miles of touring. Only about 1600 miles total. I recommend at least 1 more day of touring to help improve the misery to ecstasy ratio. By the way, I got 4200 miles from a Pirelli Diablo on a heavily loaded Busa. Leave with a new back tire and unless you're doing burnouts you'll have no trouble doing this trip without stopping for rubber.
