May have two groups.. one for the hard heads like me that wanna ride, one for the beaded seat riders like you that want to tow up and meet..

But then again, plan isn't to stay in one spot... more like ride from point to point and stay where we end up.....

Heck, I can get 5K outta a regular PP on the back of the Bandit, a dual compound touring should do way better than that. We are talking "only" 3000 miles or so for the trip...

Pace will NOT be racetrack either..

Not looking too bad.. 1560 miles over 5 days, start and end at HAK on the Nawfside...

Day 3 is a relaxing 232 miles since it includes 21, 16 and 23.. added some pic taking time in there....

Longest day looks like 389 miles actually... I can add more once I figure out where we want to go, and there are always side trips to look at waterfalls and caverns...

Added a little side jog around Missouri since some of the roads are highly recommended

One night in Hot Springs, one in Eureka Springs.. bring a suit for the hot tubs...

Its the new bike.. The seat sucks

So where the nearest truck stop? Maybe I can hack down one of those beaded seat covers.

For those thinking about it.. you'll need to carry with whatever you need to get by for 5-6 days; won't be in the same motel more than one night if the routes stay more or less the same.

Keep in mind riding twisty back roads for multiple days with a heavy backpack WILL get annoying and tiring.

I have saddlebags, tail bag and a tank bag that don't affect the bikes handling or my ability to move around a bit..

Just something to keep in mind.

Along with that.. odds and ends like chain lube, tool kits, tire plugs, visor wipes, camera, batterys, IPOD, GPS, zip ties, etc are not a bad idea, even tho I'll have all that along and more.

Make sure you have plenty of tire, and chain is in good shape, bike is in good working order. Sitting on the side of the road 100 miles from nowhere trying to fix something stupid will not win you any friends...

I should also have a couple contacts in the general area in case of emergencies so we'll have some options... there will be NO dirt sampling allowed on this ride tho...

Heck, since this is a pre-planning "think about it" thread... here is what I would consider if planning to take a longer, 2+ day ride. Most of it I carry all the time anyhow...

First make sure bike is in good shape.
tires, chain, oil change, tune up, running good and everything working as it should. Don't head out on a long backroad trip with bandaid fixes either.

Bring gear to suit, spring can have rainy days so minimal rain gear for sure

visor wipes
good tool kit
tape
zip ties
tire plugs
air pump
chain lube
rags
air gauge
spare batterys for mP3 and camera
ear plugs (couple sets)
gum
aspirin
Alieve
first aid kit
maps of planned areas
GPS or phone with apps
small flashlight
cramp buster, throttle lock, or cruise control
radar detector

enough clothes for the trip plus 2 extra days... never know
roll them up in ziplock bags, press out the air and they'll take up less space, plus you have a place for the dirty ones...

If you have vented riding pants they serve you well so you don't have to carry 5 pairs of jeans... or have the one pair of jeans standing in the corner by themselves halfway into the trip...

deoderant (please, everyone will thank you) soap and shampoo is usually in the room, but small bottle of bodywash is good idea

What am I forgetting?
