What about a product review section?

Just a section maybe under Technical or Safety that is strictly for posting product reviews. I have seen people give great reviews on products only to disappear from new posts a day or two later. This will kind of give us an area to help us make decisions before we buy. Could include things like Tires, Gear, Stands, etc.

I thought that was the Gear Talk section?

Maybe a subforum in there for strictly product reviews. Alot of it is just questions about different things.

Gear section has alot of questions etc for people regarding deals/items they are pondering purchase.

Otherwise for accessories or tools most post up in general discussion for specifics.

A review section would have to be very organized in a database form to be useful when searching for experiences. I'd imagine posting a thread for your specific consideration to be a little more direct for answers(aside from keyboard ninjas)

I tried. I think it's just you and I that want it, so no interest.

If it was to work there would be a standard as far as the thread title and the review goes.

For Example:
Alpinestars- One O One Jacket
Time Owned: 1 Month
Review: I like this jacket because it is very comfortable and makes my musculs look bigar.
Pros: Blah Blah Blah
Cons: Blah Blah Blah
Recommend: Yes/No

Of course with a bit more detail. And have a mod delete any of the unneccesary replies and keeping replies that have that some feedback on the product.

I also liked the idea of ppl telling how their gear held up in an accident. It just didn't get much interest.

what about using the search function this forum already has to find those "disappearing" threads? What about using the search function this forum already has to see if anyone else has posted about the product you have in mind? I love the search function but I feel it is drastically under used these days.

Search is great and I do use it quite often. This could help someone on a new product they have never heard of. Maybe someone has never heard of PSR levers, how would they know to search for them? Sure, they can go do research and maybe find a review online but it may not be very detailed.
