Have you ever ridden little bikes? I'm thinking maybe some of the stunt guys might be willing to let you ride a fiddy or something like that to help you learn basic skills.
Maybe you are beyond that, just trying to help.

I just took my MSF class so I've only ridden a 250 but I'll try on anything that is a good starter to help me learn...

What kind of bike you looking to buy? Wifes' Hyosung 650 will be for sale in a couple months. Fun bike but not overpowering.

I would really suggest saving up and buying yourself a bike, you could find yourself in a pickle dropping someone else's bike that they let you ride just to try out.

It's just a mound of you don't want to find yourself in.

@ SBfuller - Thank you, I PM'd you!

@ Pyro - I'm not "trying out" someone's bike - I'm actually going to practice on it and I have made it clear my only experience is at the Awesome Cycles MSF course. I think both offerors understand this and there is always a risk involved anytime someone else is on your bike. I will talk with them individually so we can learn each other's expectations. Thank you though, I'll keep in mind what you said.

+1 on the hyosung 650. mine was my first bike, and unless you're winding it up past 7k rpm, it's very tame.

i'd also agree on buying an older used 250. once they hit about $2k they don't really decrease much anymore, and you can probably pick one up especially cheap right now with all the people losing their jobs and trying to dump excess toys.

Seat time above all.

Whether you practice on a 50 or ride even on the back of someone's bike to get the feeling so you're not overwhelmed when you start riding your own, seat time is a must.
