Why do you need aftermarket exhaust? My bike has stock exhaust and it's race/track only... :icon_bigg

But as you said you have one on you track bike which is cool cause track bikes arn't for looks there for speed.
I'm just messing with ya... I agree that it does look out of place on that bike.

But in all reality, aftermarket cans really don't give enough hp advantage to be of any help for anyone but the best of riders. They do weigh a bit less, but they won't help you go any faster. In order to get faster, people need to upgrade suspension, tires... and most important skills. :icon_bigg

I have come to the conclusion that very few ppl can hear the exhaust from the inside of their cage with their radio blasting, or in converstation with a passanger, or with someone on the phone, or with their ipod, or futzing with their nav system, or putting on makeup, or eating, or thinking about how they are going to explain whatever to whoever, or all of the above at the same time for the truly talanted individual behind the wheel.

Now if you like the tone, dB, looks, etc thats cool. But if you are expecting it to save your life as a alarm/warning to that jackass decides that his destination is more important then anything else...

Maybe I'm just going about it all wrong, and I need a much louder exhaust. Perhaps the D&D is loud enough for everyone out there on the roads to finally notice me and care about my well being vs their destination or whatever is occupying them at that moment...

Don't get me wrong, every little bit helps, loud exhausts, loud helmet, high beams etc. Just don't drop your guard because you assume that the jackass in the next lane can hear your exhaust when he starts to change lanes, or cuts all the way over from the far lane to exit.

i was rockin my stock exhaust for about 3 years before i finnaly got a new one. don't get me started on al the i went thru with my old stock pipe. some people here may know what im talkin about. anyways, i just got my new muzzy about 3 months ago and love it. but the main reason i waited so long to get one, is becuase there soo expense. It just wasn't worth it to me. guess everybody's different. but i probably would hav enever gotten it with my own money. i got 300 bucks referral so i bought it.

to each his/her own.

^^ good point if i got a new bike i would probably not upgrade for awhile, the only reason i have a aftermarket is because it came on the bike

There have been a few studies that show that loud pipes have absolutely nothing to do with saving lives... that's the oldest arguement in the book.

I've been riding since Vance and Hines were in too... :icon_bigg

It's funny though i had a full vance and Hines put on my buell when I had it.It was so loud actually really liked it.And the fact that i always wanted a exhausts like my brothers had on there gsxr1100's back in the day.
I guess it was a "I have arrived' thing to me as a girl growng up in my brothers shadow on a bike.
or maybe it was just that the buell sounded like a lawn mower with the stock exhaust?
