I am just kidding, I find all the matching Gixxer gear endearing. It at least gives me a good laugh.

Maybe this is the reason. I know that there are a lot of 2009 GSXRs sitting in dealer inventory.

I noticed the same thing, haven't seen them since...

hmmm...

is there anything new about the 10's that is new/different? i wonder if the idea is going to end up backfiring. if people are in the market for a new bike, they might rather wait for a 10 model than a 09. they might wander off and get a honda or something instead of waiting, or getting an older model.

then the dealers would really be stuck with cold product. bad economy is bad.

The 2010 GSXR600 / GSXR750 should have been all new, while the GSXR 1000 was to be a repeat of '09 (with requisite color changes). Regarding the GSXR1000, why mess with a good thing (pretty much dominates the L class year after year)?

Does anyone think that it could possibly be to the fact that they have raised the price 1500 dollars on the 600's since 2007? The prices according to the Suzuki websites: 2007 - 8,899; 2008 - 9,399; 2009 - 10,399. Maybe Suzuki couldn't justify getting the price to 11k for 2010 so they are just going to wait. I'm no economist but if people can't afford your product, maybe try to lower the price, or at least not raise them?

I would love to join the Suzuki debates but I just don't have enough knowledge or riding experience to really say much. I haven't ridden a ZX, CBR or R6 much less their 1K counterparts. I'm a commuter with love for the easy twisites on the weekends. I'm not a squid poser, nor a die-hard racer so the top "supposed" reasons to own a Gixxer elude me.

It's a pretty bike, it's comfy, handles well and has a good track record. Good enough for me!

Interesting -
Sounds like it more than just GXR's
"import no GSX-Ride Smart or other streetbikes"

I think the prices went up 2009 due to the falling dollar.
Seems Honda ATV's and others have done the same.

In the link to the article someone mentioned no 83 corvettes.
That was different.
As I recall Chevy was leaving the C3 design,(Coke Bottle design as it is sometimes called) and was even considering a mid engine.
They produce what would become the C4 design built 40 of them (1983's)and found quality problems, all of them white none were relesed to the public.
Note sure what happen to the 40 - I once read GM as 3 stored somewhere
Maybe Jay Leno knows.

Well I could be wrong.

But the '84 Cease-Fire was available in Mar 1983 (which was an unheard of early release date for a new model design). So basically the '82 vette production ceased in July '82 and the '84 model year production began in January for a very public release in Mar '83. The '84 vette carried over the Cross-Fire from the '82 because the TPI (released in '85) was not ready for the '84 production year.

So no one was really hurt without an '83 C3 or an '83 C4 vette.
