Was thinking about a gen. II for my next bike but the looks aren't my fav. with the windscreen and fairings on the front of a "naked" bike. I like the speed triple also but I hear the wind blast sucks without a fairing or windscreen. I can't decide.

I think the Gen 1's are better looking but, I know for a fact that when you are on it, the Gen 2 will look just fine. The windscreen is small but when you are out on a ride and it gets dark and unexpectedly cold you can crawl behind it and it will be much warmer than if there was nothing. Also on a long ride, there is less fatigue with something blocking the wind off your chest.

The first time I saw one Guitar man was riding his on a SMR, I just loved it- beautiful machine.
I then compared the two and payed the difference for the H.P..
The 2nd gen. seat is no way as comfy as the 1st. gen. or the FZ6 but I manage.
Still loving it. So much so that I'm a repeat customer. Yamaha built a bike just for me.
