fz1 vs fz6

yes as stated, i know besides the bigger engine. I KNOW THE FZ6 is FI

and the fz1 is carburated. well at least the ones i have seen so far

so the question is. how good the fz1 works ? handles? any carburator issues?

are all the fz1 carburated? me no money yet. but soon i will defeinetely be looking for one

thanks for all the info in advance

The first gen FZ1's were carberated but after I think '04 they became injected.
I have a first gen and I love it. Best bike I have ever had. It's fast, it handles great (fully adjustable front and rear suspension, the only naked that has that) and has the same brakes as an R1 (from the time).

Actually the FZ1 became FI in '06. '05 and before is known ad Gen I and '06 and above is known as Gen II.

Both are very capable all around bikes who class can easily be defined by what you decide to do with it. That could be track days to long distance touring. Just ask HouTEx!

The FZ6 will be a little more flickable while the FZ1 will give you a little better low end power and higher top speed.

I should say that the '06 and '07 FZ1 had a bit of jerky throttle response. There are after market gizmodads that can fiz that. The '08 and later have pretty durn smooth throttle.

Fz6 0-60 3.0, Fz1 0-60 3.1 ..dunno where I remember reading that.

1st gen Fz1 has a larger fuel tank.... side can vs the fz6 undertail.
Fz6 gets better gas mileage.

I have several bikes, 1 of which is a gen 1 FZ1. I believe it to be one of the finest all around bikes I have ever owned or ridden. I rode a gen 1 FZ1 as a dedicated track bike for a full season several years ago - it did great, I then sold it to a friend who is still riding it as a street ride. There is one of the finest owner support groups in exsistence for the FZ.

As for as the carbs go it is a total non issue - they are great. They of course require choking when the engine is cold, but once warmed up they function very well. Mine has a jet kit from:
www.ivansperformanceproducts.com

He is most likely the most knowledgeable tuner of those bikes (and many others) on the planet. You will not be sorry you bought an FZ 1 - incredible bang for the buck.

I miss my 1st gen Fizzer. Tons of power, great for trips, comfy comfy comfy, and even though it isn't a full sport bike it kept up just fine

I do love me some Naked's!
The first time I saw one Guitar man was riding his on a SMR, I just loved it- beautiful machine.
I then compared the two and payed the difference for the H.P..
The 2nd gen. seat is no way as comfy as the 1st. gen. or the FZ6 but I manage.

Your sig is right, the blue ones are faster.

BTW in the second picture I posted, it was not the Blue Ridge Parkway, it was the Cherohala Skyway. (same area but I didn't want some smarta$$ pointing out my tiny little error) I got enough tiny things that get pointed out as it is
