performance parts question on 636

I plan on getting a 05-06 636.. what are some parts or tips to make performance on a bike better, all I know is pc, full exhaust, and that's basically it..lol, but what kind of exhaust is good to get and what are some good things to get to make it go faster???

Oh yeah I heard oversized cams are a good to get to

Buy a suspension setup and a few trackdays to make yourself faster..

But get a BMC airfilter, exhaust(i prefer two brothers because they sound mean and look awesome on that bike), pc3 with a good map and you're all set unless you wanna spend alot on bore, pistons, cams, and other internal work

Make sure all the maintenance on the bike is up to snuff first off like oil, chain, brake fluid, tires, plugs and then

You can make those bikes faster with a paper clip, seriously look it up, you just jump some in the tail and whamo!

BMC are garbage in my opinion, my R1 filter cracked in a few places and my KN in 3 bikes hasnt failed yet.

Exhaust, ehh 2bro is cheap but ok, look at dyno charts and your price range before you buy. exhaust brands are all over the spectrum with these

smog block off plates, are good to reduce the popping stuff

get the throttle bodies synced

steel braided brake lines with some EBC HH or Extreme Pads.

dynojet PC3USB with a little dyno tuning time.

before you do any motorwork get lighter wheels carozzira (spelling) makes decently priced nice wheels

ceramic wheel bearings if you think youre a baller

Depends what your "faster" means, if you want straight line or road course fast would be determinate of the next answer's

just learn how to become a better rider with the machine (seat time) as for the exhaust, i think unless you're racing a full system isn't worth the money vs. the result. just do a slip on, pc3 and a filter and ride the out of the bike, it is plenty fast enough as it is already.

3 months of experience and you already wanna make a fast bike faster?

i'll echo the rest, upgrade the rider not the ride.

Buy gear + trackdays. That will make you faster than any exhaust or pc3 will.

If you do a full system, pcm, dyno progamming, bmc filter, yada yada... slam an additional 4k into the bike you may see an increase in 15hp. W cams maybe, maybe 20 more.

So why not buy a larger bike then?

Brakes stop you, tires put all the power into traction against the ground.

Sprocket change will increase your acceleration and make it feel like you gained 20hp but knock off 10mph off your top end.

That said, you dont want to put that much into something someone may just steal or someone w a stock one will outride you on.

My recommendations other then the track days mentioned above is to do the things that will help you in the future:

1) lojack
2) Braided lines(front at least)
3) EHC pads
4) Good tires for your riding profile. If unsure, try some BT016s or CorsaIIIs.
5) Front sprocket -1 so you dont have to change the chain but get more acceleration.
6) Gear, gear, gear
7) exhaust: slip on only. Its already gonna cost you upwards of 500; why go through the hassle of a full system, fitting problems, programming problems, etc etc.

Everyone doesnt mean to jump over your case; I like to tinker w my bikes when they dont need it also(see the mutt build lol.) But these bikes are already built beyond what most people can ride them at; so everything else for add ons are just for the rider's personality.

GL!

The 05-06 636 already has the KIT race cams in it from the factory. You can get ZX-6RR camgears and degree the cams though. Look up the jumper mod for free power about 13.5k, and a simple slip on+midpipe and a good custom tune. The bikes fast as as is, and mine only has the 2Bros. exhaust and jumpermod.

I remember your experience though. . . . ridden your brothers 600's a few times. You may think everyone is trying to give you about your experience, but in reality they're simply giving you good advice.

People are giving you serious advice. I remember your intro...your bro or cousin or some has 2 600s, one of which is the 636, that you rode around here and there, and then you wanted a 1k. People told you there too that a 600 is still crazy power, and it's more than you will likely ever be fully capable of handling. Rider mod is going to be the best of all. Still working on mine. Just sayin.

+1

the bike is plenty powerful. your better off becoming a BETTER RIDER so you can fully appreciate the power that is already there.
