I started out on a 250 not too long ago, and was surprised how many people actually thought alot of the bike, and the choice to start on it.

I can also say without a doubt, that if i had started out on my current 600 i would have ate pavement.

Why is this such a hard concept? Are people really that scared of a little heckling from douchebags who know nothing of the sport? , I would still have my 250 if i didn't ride highway so much.

I dont think anyone thats 6 should be riding at all, they cant even drive a car capably, much less ride a bike that can go 180mph. Even if he rode dirtbikes since he was 3 and is really a good rider that doesnt mean he knows about never ridin next to vehicles and using cars as cover when leaving lights or any of the other crucial knowledge of street ridin. But hey we all gotta learn somehow. That dad is a fvcking moron. When I rode home on my first sportbike (89 Gsxr 1100) my mom thought I was on my TW200 and didnt ever find out I had two bikes until see saw them both in the garage 6 months later, hahaha good times.

I will support my son riding a motorcycle when that day comes but i will beat his if he came home with a 1000cc bike for his firt street bike. fck that.

I grew up riding/ racing in the dirt and my first bike was a wr250x supermoto. That was perfect for learning the ropes of the road. 7 months later i sold it and bought me a 600.

I feel sorry for that kid.

and Gxxr'stunna, your the reason all of our insurance is soo high for a sportbike. Put on a helmet, you don't look cool in your avitar.

I can't say anything just cause he's young (I am young too) Just hope he has someone to ride with and teach him.

Rather have his dad their with him then the kid buying the bike with no one knowing and then keeping it somewhere else and no one knowing what happened to him if he did get into an accident.

I agree. Anyone who is 6 is too young to ride, even if they have been riding since they were 3.

I guess to each their own. My 12R is for sale, kind of. I've had three people call about it and I've turned all 3 of them down flat. One had zero experience, and the other two had ridden cruisers for less than 2 years. I'm not selling that bike to anyone that's got less than 2 years experience on a sportbike. I'll let it sit in the garage and collect dust.
