Bryan, shoot me the guy's number so i can thank him. Chris, thanks for riding my bike out to Jim's. And Jim thanks for everything else. Guess i'll stick my neck out and say that up til now target fixation was a distant threat in my mind. Last forest ride i remember telling Switch that i kept fighting it riding behind him most of the way to Yankees, trying not to get too relaxed. Not because he had bad form but i already know too well that can get me into trouble. Today just got lax hanging with the back of the pack and learned that lesson the hard way. Brandt, track days weren't far off for me. Between recently getting my car and the gixxer, bills and my son, it keeps slowly getting bumped around my priority list. Every day better than the last I guess. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Wanna hear something crazy? I dont remember anything about the wreck. The last thing I remember was gassing up at that 1950's gas station and getting on the road. Then I remember someone telling me that I kept asking the same questions over and over. I then explained that my thoughts were like a conveyor belt. I'd ask and someone would respond, then off they rolled. I was again presented with the same situation and a blank slate, so I asked the same question again. The next thing i remember is the nurse asking me to lay down in the CT scan machine. I had no idea why, but I tried to just let things flow. Then after that, another nurse asked if it was ok if my friends came back to sit with me. I was like..... ummm... sure. Then I saw you and Hugo come back. When i noticed the gear you had on, I was like.... ohhhh, that's right, I wrecked my cruiser. After Hugo sat down I noticed my boots and knee gaurds on the floor next to him. Overall not a fun experience, but thanks again for all your help guys.

Dang Roland, that's pretty crazy. Glad we didn't let you ride then.
I had no idea what the aftermath of a concussion was. Good to know.

yeah, first hand experience with a few concussions, and best indicator is the person acting "loopy", i.e. no short term memory, asking the same questions over and over again. Strange how it works that they can usually remember everything up to an hour back or so. I always look at the helmet and the head, looking for bruising or swelling first just in case it is more serious than a knock in the head.

Roland, it usually comes back to you after a couple days, but not always.

You may have asked me the same questions 4 times while we were in citco gas station and 3 times on the scene. I was seriously scared... First time I encountered that situation.

Oh btw roland, I still have the piece of your front fender with me

My girlfriend said I kept replying to her texts over and over again that I thought I'd broken my collarbone. I was like, no way. Then I looked at my outgoing texts and sure enough, 4 times.

I dont remember any Citgo station.

The last thing I remember telling you was how odd that both our bikes used almost the same amount of gas at that last gas station after we ate. Then the next thing was you calling me when Jim was driving me home.

It is funny now, not so much at the scene.

Helios "how far to the main road? I think I broke my collarbone and my ribs hurt"

Someone else "about 3-4 miles, yeah, you broke it"

2 minutes later...

Helios "how far to the main road? I think I broke my collarbone and my ribs hurt"

Someone else "about 3-4 miles, yeah, you broke it"

repeat for the next couple hours...

I dont remember ANY of that. LOL.... Even that last pic Chris (CDN BACON) posted doesn't look familiar, even though that's me plain as day in it.

Yeah, right now yawning, coughing and sneezing are killer. Feels like I did 500 crunches and my entire abdomen, sides and lower back are wrapped tight in barbed wire. My ribs hurt.
