When I first saw this thread on the main page all I saw was "What are you most afraid of. . . "

Which is, obviously, "carnies". Small hands. Smell like cabbage. Then I opened the thread and read the complete title. My answer still remains "carnies", but in this case it should be "carnies in a clown car/cage filled with other carnies" that run over into my lane.

Good Poll.

I agree.

Certain things we have control over, other drivers we do not.

Nothings wost then Seeing a Asian woman driving in her Excursion 4x4 on 6-10 with her knee. Picture this: Sun Visor down putting on her make up with her right hand, while talking on cell with her left hand, and using one of here knees to steer.

+1 on flashing brakes at Red lights/ stop signs/ stuck in freeway traffic

After seeing that pic....I'm now afraid of Chuck!

My biggest fear is cagers not paying attention or not seeing me and pulling out, stopping suddenly, or not stopping and rear-ending me.

Man, tough crowd, but I agree. I took the word "straddle" and used it out of context, and then I painted a nice picture of a hottie peeing in front of Irak, er, me. But that's still not enough for ya.

So, for you guys expecting my question, here's the 9th poll option:

When I ride on the streets, I'm most afraid that: The cute young co-ed (with the "I party naked!" sticker on her rear window) driving next to me on the freeway is gonna wink at me and then pull her drawers down ever so slowly on her way to giving me a beaver peek...and I'm gonna be so caught up in watching the show that I'm gonna KO the end of the truck in front of me.

like VMAX GIRL, I really dont have any specific concerns. just crashing in general. but i dont think too much about it.

-scan ahead as far as possible
-drive a little faster than average traffic.
-check your mirrors OFTEN.
-check blind spots OFTEN.
-ride in a gear that can give you the best power possible for emergencies
-know how to panic brake/swerve in the dry, and wet.
-when at ANY intersection/stop..dont EVER assume your right of way is clear.(CHECK that the road is CLEAR from intersecting traffic blasting thru when your light turns green)
-keep situational aweness level UP.
- if you are riding, "minding your own business" (car or bike) you DONT NEED TO BE ON THE ROAD. period.
-drive "erratically". shift inside from one side of the lane to the other from time to time.

everything on the road is a potential threat. all are my enemy, and are out to kill me.

but it is a fun game, addictive, and highly enjoyable.

i have two that im equally afraid of: one being caught by the police, the other being taken out by some dumbass in the group. i know someone is gonna say "only ride with people you know", but you dont know them til you ride with them for the first time. and there are many, many that i have ridden with only once.
