How accurate are digital speedos? My speedo read 160 mph down a country road with nothing but grass farms on each side of the road. I don't usually open my bike up on Houston roads! ('05 GSXR 750)

Speedos are usually off anywhere from 6% to 9% on average. It varies though.

Before I bought my TRE I shut my bike off 3 times at 186MPH. Now that I have my TRE it is not governed and I have touched just past 190MPH once.
I currently live in Kansas City and there are a lot of open stretches of highway here in the midst of all the corn fields :icon_bigg so it is possible to go that fast. I am curious to see what Houston driving conditions will be like when I arrive in two weeks. I lived in Houston a long time ago, but I did not own a bike then. Actaully, I was not even old enough to drive then :eh: .

I have a lowered 01' GSXR 1000 with a little bit of work

Yeah, I highly doubt I will ever get even close to topping my bike out in Houston. I only go that fast when there are no cars in sight for miles. I don't think the highways are ever like that in Houston.

This thread brings up something. I always love when people come up and ask you how fast your bike is. I look at them dead pan and say, "Oh it'll do 230." Almost no one questions it.
