Bikers Hit By Cow!!!

So on Sunday night I was driving down Crabb River Rd. to come across flashing lights. As we slowed down to pass I see bikers to the side of the road and that's when the chills ran down the spine coz there is no such thing as an easy crash on a bike!!! My girlfriend asks do I want her to pull over, and we do. I get out, walk up to the riders at the side and ask are they ok. As it turns out they weren't part of the wreck - it was a pair of riders ahead of them. So I keep walking to see a 95 f150 with an almighty smashed hood. It was so bad there was no way a rider was surving that type of impact - BUT then I see one massive dead cow laying on the side of road. SO here is what happened: Dumb in truck couldn't see one MASSIVE COW in middle of road. Dumb hits one MASSIVE COW in middle of the road. One MASSIVE COW goes flying into air and takes out one 06 GSXR 1000 with passenger coming from oppsite direction. I find the riders buddy and offer my help with the bike etc but he had already got someone on the way. I ask the EMT's how the two riders are and he said "Lucky - they should both be fine" I noticed both were wearing helmets and jackets but I wanted to double check so I got with another EMT and he confirmed they'll be fine. BUT **** THAT - Imagine getting swiped by a flying cow. I wouldn't be fine!!! Anyway give a thought for the rider and passenger and hope they make a full recovery!

In all honesty that's a major law suit to the cow owner - who probably is George Ranch no shortage of money there!

There's probably some Texas law that says the owner is not liable. Not sure though.

The owner of the cow would be liable for the cow getting out.

Actually, The law protects the cow owner and the person hitting the animal must pay the cow owner for hitting the cow. Kinda like pedestrians have the right of way type of thing. My aunt hit a cow on Fairmont Pkwy in Pasadena at 5am and the insurance had to pay for the cow. Go figure huh.

So the lady in the F150 would have to pay for the cow and the injuries and damage towards the riders on the bike cause her direct actions caused the accident to occur.
