Stung by a bee in my helmet!

In the past, I have found bees have an absolute fascination with my helmet and want in it REALLY bad. I have, in the past, been successful at keeping them out... until yesterday.

I am riding along, about 20 seconds into my ride and I feel a sharp pain in my cheek. No worries, sometimes the pads sort of "pull" my facial hair and it feels like that.

... pain gets sharper...

At this point I realize I am being stung. Boy does that totally take your attention off of riding! I shoved my hand up there and went crazy rubbin around. I quickly pulled into the nearest parking spot, threw off my sunglasses and ripped off my helmet. The culprit was not around anymore, but man that sucked. I felt like I was being constantly stung for the next hour and still am pretty sore.

yep. somehow this big wasp found its way into my leathers, underneath my back protector too so all it had to sting me through was the underarmor. it stung me mid session and it went from a slight sting in my shoulder to wtf burning pain. had to pit in, i thought i had ants in my leathers. i get to the paddocks start stripping off helmet and gloves, pull off leathers and this big wasp flies out. didn't even get to kill that punk

When I was taking the BRC at Awesome, we took a small break. Before that happened though there was a landscape crew out there, and one of the guys disturbed an ant bed with a weed eater. So ants were all over the place, and i didn't notice it when I put my helmet on the ground. After break, we got back to the next excercise for the day. Once we got to rolling I started feeling like something was bitting me all over my head. I stopped the bike, and seems like I couldn't seem to get my gloves, glasses, and helmet off quick enough. That was only ants..... I couldn't imagine a bee sting in the helmet area when riding.

curious.. How'd the bee get in, open visor? The chin area is closed in on my lid, though something could get in through a small gap, it would have to work at it.
