When I got my TXTags a year ago, I didn't have to buy the stickers they were free. I had to put a base amount on the account, but since I was going to be using it anyways I didnt see a problem. I got four stickers, one for each of my three cars and one for my bike. I told them I had a bike and they still gave me a sticker and told me to stick under the seat. It doesnt work for t under the seat, but they have my plate on file so I still get charged.

Why are people using the same tag for multiple vehicles/bikes when you can get more stickers for free? Did they stop giving them to you for free when you sign up?

I have an online account, have for a few years, I've never been able to change anything other than the plate.

But in your defense, I checked with HCTRA, they said they changed it and do now allow the motorcycle tags to be moved from one bike to another, but there is something wrong with my account, they are trying to get fixed.

I checked it earlier when you mentioned it and mine would not allow me to change anything else.

So you are correct. I just have a fcked up online account for some reason.

Mine doesn't work under the seat either.

They have charged $15 per tag for as long as I have been driving.

FWIW I have changed the same tag to different cars and there haven't been any fines. Sure they want you to be a sucker and pay $15, but why would you?

I don't care what the website says, it works.

But instead of going through the hassle of changing it online why not go get more tags so you dont have to worry about it?

If it's supposed to be more powerful then it really sucks at it, mine does not read from in the tail or even in my jacket pocket, I have to take it out of my pocket and hold it up at the gate before the arm lifts.

The last time we took a sticker tag of a windshield the backing comes off. Maybe if your real careful you can move it from one to the other, but after repeated removal, the strength of that glue is gonna get worse every time. One, i don't want some halfway falling off sticker making my vehicle look like , and 2, if you lose it in a truck thats one thing, you can pick it up and slap it back on. You lose it on a bike, and bye bye.
I specifically asked for stickers for both bikes, and I told them I don't want a brick for the bikes. The sticker is water resistant and I wash the bikes once or twice a month. I have them affixed to the very bottom of my cowl, just before it meets the plastic, on the inside of the bike, absolutely no problems. Firsthand experience here, not an opinion; BTW I have had them both for 2 yrs now with no issues.

Just setup an online account and request a new tag. They'll mail it to you. I haven't been to a store in years.

FYI:!!!!!!!!!!!
if your plate is lowered under your seat in front of the tire the cameras can't take a pic and the little light will go off sending the popo waiting for the little light to go off to chase you.was the biker in front of me.

on another note. its your responsibility to replace the battery in the box, because if you don't the scanner won't pick you up and you won't get charged thats what the popo told me. good info i'm glad he told me that

would love to see some proof of that in writing on the HCTRA site.

i carry my tag in my jacket just like multiple people at the store told me would be fine, if it doesn't read, not my problem.

The proof is on the paper that came with the box. i did some digging when the cop told me this and its on the letter that comes with the box they mail you.

I carried mine in jacket and took it out when i passed. Popo left me alone because he saw me at least trying to make it read. I swear he was there every morning waiting for the little red light like he was at a drag strip.

Still got that paper? Care to scan it and share with the rest of us? I never saw any instruction on how to replace the battery.
