, I have 2 track bikes and a daily driver. If I paid someone to fix all the that goes wrong with a friggin track bike, I would have to sell my house just to pay for it.

Track bikes turn regular non-mechanically inclined ordinary people into expert mechanics QUICK.

I check the air preasure in the tires, clean/lube the chain........everything else Motorcycles Unlimited handles. And, *knock on wood* none of my bikes have let me down.....ever.

I do all my own maintenance. My friend use to own a shop so anything I am not qualified to do, he shows me how to do. For less then I would have payed for the stuff on my girlfriends and my bike, I have a garage full of tools and the satisfaction of knowing I did it.

Invest the $100 or so on a service manual.
Then you can make a intelligent call as to if you can handle it yourself.

Tried the tires myself and it's worth the money to get it done!
Everything else can be figured out.

Pretty much everything in the garage. I have a very large garage, nice tools, and am a degreed engineer, so I may as well put all of that to good use.

I am noticing that alot more folks are doing their own work.
