Red Bull Hyundai Genesis

RMR brought along Will Roegge and Joshua Herron to capture the whole Pikes Peak experience. They did an amazing job shooting and editing this video featuring the Red Bull Hyundai Genesis breaking a world record at the hill climb. Turn the volume WAY UP and listen to the Hyundai Turbo V6 scream!

ENGINE AND TURBO KIT

The Hyundai Lambda 3.8-liter V6 engine, which comes standard on the Genesis Coupe 3.8, will be stroked to 4.1-liters and further enhanced by a Turbonetics turbocharger. An AEM engine management system will also be used. The engine will be mated to a HKS sequential transmission. The end result is a Genesis Coupe that will produce 550 horsepower and 520 lb.-ft. of torque.

Tuner Beyond Redline took apart the 2.0T to see exactly what Hyundai gave tuners to work with. For starters, the block is evidently sourced from the Mitsubishi Ralliart, which is different from the more structurally sound EVO X block. Beyond Redline expects the engine's sturdy components and 86mm stroke and bore to make 400 wheel-horsepower and rev to 8,000 RPM with the proper mods and a stock block. While the 2.0T gives modders plenty of room for overclocking, the engine's open deck block means that too much boost could warp the cylinders. Block guards can be used to reinforce the cylinder walls, but that means additional work and cash to really kick the 2.0T into high gear.

your links are not for the red bull car. and if you are stating that in any general genesis not the red bull specific car, that the engine is not a hyundai engine, well like i said, its a diamond star just like chrysler, mitsu, eagle. all the same engines basically. like the guys who drive old school colts and glh's and omnis and such. those guys do it on the cheap and pull cylinder heads from the hyundais for their larger displacements as the hyundai is i believe 1.8 or 2.0 and the chrysler cars are the vice versa of whichever one is which., as its either 1.6 or 1.8 putting a 1.8 or 2.0 cylinder head. make sense? so, like ford and mazda. toyota and pontiac vibe and matrix, same motor. lots of manufacturers do this. vw/ audi. so really it is a hyundai motor. the evo shares this motor the red bull car is a v6 tho. so looks like they are all hyundai motor shared with its sister company, mitsubishi, in their evo cars. just like the eagle talon and the eclipse.

good ol rabbit gti. 1983 was the first year you could buy a rabbit gti in the states. and they were produced in pennsylvania, lol. my gti is a golf by vin but was badged a rabbit gti. its number is 3084 of 5000 in 2003. 2001 vw had a special edition gti called a 337. they were all silver with recaro factory interior and a 6 speed trans and factory bbs wheels and no sunroof. 2 years later the anniversary gti came out. which is what i have. also a six speed car but has a sunroof and came in yellow black and blue. the anniversary is of the first year the rabbit gti was offered here. in europe it was called a 25th anniversary car because they got the rabbit gti 5 years prior to the us.

Rhys Millen RM460 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
If you happen to follow the world of drift racing, you know who Rhys Millen is. The guy splits his time between building winning race cars and driving them sideways. Recently, Millen has taken a liking to the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and for this year's SEMA show, he cooked up something really special a midengine version of the Korean sports car. The creation packs a 500-horsepower 4.6-liter V8 engine mounted behind the front seats. Aside from a nearly completely custom rear section, the car also sports unique bodywork, 20-inch wheels and a sport-oriented interior.
