3.3333333/60 = miles per second (.05555555)

.05555555 x 5280 = feet per second (293.3 fps)

293.3 fps / 1000 = feet per thousandth (.2933)

.2933 feet x 12 = inches per thousandth (3.5)
Wow. I guess we can learn a thing or 2 on MH!

I guess the only way to find out if any of this is true is to just take the chance and hit the camera at those speeds. I heard about the white line on the toll road but I also heard that the cops are getting smart to that idea and I have seen several of them at the toll booths waiting for a bike to shoot the line. I heard that they are cracking down on that but they can't catch you if you blow through the camera at those speeds.

It's not the speed of the camera, it's how fast it takes for the system to detect the vehicle, send the signal, then have the camera receive the signal and then trigger a snapshot. (short story, barring a few other technical items)

Also, you have to take into consideration the variance of the sensors themselves. There are two types of sensors they can put into the ground: a weight sensor, and a magnetic field sensor. They are most likely using the magnetic field sensors that they use at stoplights in order to detect if there is a vehicle present. You would be able to see the looped wire embedded in the concrete. As we have all noticed one time or another, these loops have a calibration that each goes under in order to prevent false positives. This creates an unfortunate side affect for motorcycles where the lights does not always trigger. Now, the toll sensors are more sensitive then the light switches, but you still might be able to use this principle on a motorcycle in combination with speed so the sensors are unable to read the field of the bike (although, using a car would be much more difficult to fool the sensors due to its mass).

Also, the difference between the toll booths and what Mythbusters tested were the sensors each device uses; the speed cameras used had a modified version of a radar/laser gun in order to sense a vehicle, and the booths use the ground strips.

Or you could just pass by the loops on the ground splitting the lanes because the sensors don't extend that far. Either option to me seams really dangerous, but I guess that's just me.

There is a gent on here (no names) that as a matter of practice simply slows a bit, then pops a wheelie and proceeds through the EZ tag area. Has not been charged to date.

It is somewhat hard to shoot a plate when the plate is facing the ground.

Here's one excel formula showing inches per thousandth of a second, just replace 200 with the speed you want to check against:

=(200*(5280*12))/((60*60)*1000)

The only problem with the wheelie method is, while you may save the $1.50 toll, you are risking a felony arrest (with photo evidence) for reckless endangerment.
Why not just pay the toll and stop being stupid?
