Tailgating

Tonight i was working on my bike just got the clutch adjusted
right took her around the streets for a bit, out of no wear
a Ford Taurus comes riding up my tail, brights on and all, at this point
its a 2 way street I got 1 lane,a cop in front me and Douchebag right
behind me!..
Never been in this situation

anyways the point of this story is me looking for ideas
next time this happens.

what does one do?

I woulda got in the oncoming lane, slowed way down and let him tail the cop. Or just flashed your brights at the cop several times and pointed behind you.

What I would want to do and what I would do are different stories. I would want to use the plugs and or ball bearings,,,or+++ bag of roofing nails......depending on the situation you have several none confrontational options I'd bet, turn on a side street or pull to the side n let em pass and tail gate the cop etc.. etc..

Depends, but throwing a plug, ball bearing etc. probably isn't the smartest idea.

You weren't going to try to get away from him because of the LEO in front of you, so now you're a sitting duck. Throwing an object at a car is illegal, and there's a LEO in front of you who may have seen you do it.
Even without a LEO, throwing something at a car behind you isn't the best idea.
1) what if you miss?
2) what if the driver swerves and hits another car?
3) what if he really gets stupid and rams you / runs you down?

You've now escalated it to something life threatening, for what?

Best bet is to either turn in somewhere and let the idiot pass, or speed up and pull away from him.

In your case with the LEO in front of you, speeding up isn't really an option, so you can either pull in somewhere to let the idiot by or try to get the LEO's attention.

I woulda just jumped in the other lane and slowed down. Let the asshat pass! I hate when people show no consideration while following a rider.

This is why you should disconnect your rear brake electical, so you can brake hard w the rear without the brake light coming on.

Of course you need to be able to watch your mirror, judge distances and be brave enough to act a little foolish knowing the consequences.

Only once in our neighborhood did I just stop, put the kickstand down and walk back to the driver to yell at them. That was after signaling them to go around me on a wide suburban road with no houses and he refused to even when I got over.

OK here is some dumb advise but for some reason its what I do.
I have had similar encounters but not with a cop present.
I do something rather stupid by most standards.
I hit the brakes in a challenge for the dumb to hit me.
Hard or soft depends on the situation.
Yet ready to scoot out of the way if possible.
Yeah, I know if he does hit me I get hurt, but in the few time this has happend they tend to back off.
I also stay aleart to catch that license number.

Note the sitation is it possibly just an idiot in the middle of the day or 2:00 am bar closing time.

The later you might just want to remain at constant speed and make the next turn off.

Better Idea would be pull off when you can or slow down until they decide to pass you.

No shoulder? I'd just pull over and let em around in that situation. Note, theres generally a fair amount of debris on the side of the road to kick up too.
