yO, you really do need to file a complaint, then have an attorney fight the ticket. worse comes to worse, you pay the ticket...or DD....etc...but atleast this is on the record and who knows...with filing a complaint the DA may consider dropping the charge cause this dangerous method... on how he pulled you over will definitely come up in a trial as a negative for them.

worth a shot to me and this A$$hole will have a complaint on his record!

Sorry this happened to you...i would be super too!

Yea those white Chargers are HPD's new traffic enforcement. They are sneaky. It sounds like this officer has had more than a few run from him, but to be honest (and I hate to say this) his supervisors need to now about his uncalled for behavior. Are you guys getting off your bikes or do your stay on with your helmets still on? Does he ask you to take the keys out or does he just rush up there and them?

yea file a complaint about his behavior, however, the fact that u were speeding is another issue entirely. for that you do need a lawyer, like other posts said, not to fight the ticket, but to keep points off your record.

Agreed. File a Complaint dude, that was stupid, runners or not. In fact some agencies even have SOP's outlining this practice will not be done.

Hm...sounds like assault and battery.

He would not have done that if you were in a car.

Cop was WAY the out of line. I wonder how that would have played out had you defended yourself from that attempted murder in the way he used his car...

I know we have a few cops on this board, and I am aware most of you seem to think I have a problem with cops in general. However, cops must be held to some standard of behavior or they are nothing more than state-approved thugs.

If he yanked the keys from lanzer's hands, that is assault and battery. If he yanked them out of the bike, then that's a different issue. Either way, it was wrong. He would not have done that with a person in a car, he should not have done it to someone on a bike. He had also demonstrated a willingness to put lanzer at serious risk by attempting to run him over or squash him between the car and the barrier. THAT is attempted murder, and in fact, lanzer could have defended himself against that.

The cop has no authority to just grab your property or put your life in danger over a freaking speeding ticket. It is a very minor misdemeanor.

deff. file a complaint with the station or bring it up in court. Its not gonna change the fact that you got the ticket but him using his car to pull you over physical like that put your life in danger and if his lights were on during it the camera would have caught it. If he had kept his car next to you i would assume he was doing it to protect you from other traffic but b/c u said he moved back i think he was just being a @#$^@.
