That would be better than anyone getting killed because of your juvenile actions. If you are such a badass rider, why dont you get into racing and win some contengency....Theres no trophies to win riding on the highway.

Anyone seen those Hulu commercials where aliens are liquifying human brains to slurp up with a straw? My brain kinda feels like that after reading all this.

...but it is kind of like a train wreck so I will just kick back and kill a few more brain cells here.

This is seriously a line straight out of one of those cheesy motorcycle or car movies.

Someone needs to make a video reading this out all serious. , I think I will give it a shot. Everyone should do this and see who can do the best job.

I can just see it with some cool dramatic music in the background and all.

I am doing it, too. I need to practice my lines first.

I am going to try and talk a friend of mine into doing it also.

I take shamrocks at 70 mph, Ive ridden fast pace and even many times, esp with friends have been hauling some ....but I chilled out alot, and I try to advocate respect for others on public roads too. Nothing I say will stop anyone from trying to race on the streets, but, if you do.....I recommend you at least print off a trackday checklist.....and get yourself a tourque wrench and a brain.

I still ride fast sometimes, but I gone out early Sunday morning and made my passes for LEO, and collected data for my Bazzaz zaf pick my times and places to do it. I dont split lanes at 130 at night. I havem so I can build a map for my bike.....I was alone though....and I wasnt racing anyone.

thanks for the welcome
Seriously, shamrocks at 70? Wow. Where are they?

What is a Bazzazz? And what does a torque wrench have to do with this?

Bazzaz makes electronic performance products. On my street bike I use their Z-fi fuel injection module with z-afm air fuel managment....which allows me to select a targe air/fuel ratio and collect data....the zafm recommends necessary change at RPM and throttle position to correct afr to specified range. I run my afr at 13.2. I have the same module with quick shifter kit on my track bike. Just installed it....havent had a chance to put the quick shift to work....but Im ready....cant wait. QS cuts ignition spark momentarily to allow for full throttle clutchless upshifts. You should go on youtube and search quickshift...if you arent sure what it does.

A torque wrench is my best friend. If you are going to be racing around....its best advised to periodically check the torque on your parts (ie front axle pinch bolts, front axle nut, brake caliper bolts, oil drain plug, rear axle nut, etc)......And there is a checklist with all specified torque for your specific bike....I reommend printing one off and checking them periodically. How would you like to loose your front axle racing 150 down the public highway? Or even the track.
Nice response, and good information. Thank you. BTW, in addition to the torque wrench, you can have your bike safety wired to prevent parts from coming off. It pretty darned cheap at Motorcycles Unlimited and it's very easy to keep up with. When I change my wheels, I can re-safety wire the front and rear, including the calipers in about 15 minutes. Brings extra peace of mind at the track and on the street. The safety wire tool I use can be purchase online for less than $10.00.

Also, if some of you think that you are ONLY putting YOURSELF at risk by riding fast.....heres a little physics lesson for you.

F= Ma.....so go do some math. I know these arent correct units..but this is just done to show reference.

car = 2000 lbs traveling at 40 mph
bike = 500 lbs with rider traveling at 150 mph

2000 x 40 = 80000 units force on impact
500 x 150 = 75000 units force on impact

if you seriously think that you running into a vehicle going 100 plus is only going to hurt yourself.....youre an idiot. You will generate enough force to kill passengers in a vehicle.
I appreciate the point you are trying to make. When thinking about acceleration in your formula, it's not 150 mph, that's the velocity.

The equation you want is for kinetic energy and it's E=1/2 * m * v^2.

It makes the point of your post all the more clear. There is a huge amount of kinetic energy in a 500 lb motorcycle traveling at 150 mph.

It's momentum that he was referring to.

momentum = mass x velocity (p = m*v)

It's why if you shoot a golf ball into a bowling ball, the golf ball bounces back farther compare to the bowling ball, which barely moves. Or conversely when you shoot a bowling ball at a golf ball, the golf ball shoots of while the bowling ball speed only reduces by a little.

It's not exactly the same when you compare a motorcycle and a car (their mass don't differ as much) but you still get a point. If you're rear-ending a sedan at 130mph youl most likely won't kill the driver or front seat passengers on impact. You may cause them to lose control and they crash (and perhaps die) afterward, but not killing them on impact. As for the motorcycle rider, he'll probably will be killed on impact.
