Please wear some knee pads, they are $20 - $30 around here.

They are just as important and no one really knows when there under your pants.

Watched a small part of the vid but looks great. Only thing I don't like are those black little strips that can be slippery. Also debri (dust on road etc) = worst enemy.

it's about ability and its about seat time. my opinion is it is 100% both, applied at the same time. take your time, develop your skills, and enjoy yourself. some instruction would do you tons of good. even cali will gladly offer you a personal ride. he'll be behind you telling you what to do next,. conciously choose your surrounding riders . if the other guys act crazy and you're not comfortable just ride your own ride. you should come ride with cali sometime. where is lime creek?

i wanna ride it.

Ive only been riding about 7 weeks now, and ran lime creek with a buddy a week or so ago. Amazing road, and gorgeous like you said. Some of those hairpin turns are insane for a new rider, coming around a turn and glancing down into nothing makes it hard not to target fixate. I would definitely say running it with a friend that has experience is better than running it alone or with a big group. Next time you run it, make several passes up and down, and pick somethin to improve on everytime, and try and run it during the day. things wont sneak up on you so much, and the road wont be cold. Enjoy your riding man, sounds like you're off to a great start!

Also, might wanna make sure you have full trust in your riding buddies, because a surprise run to lime creek on a new road surface, at night, with a rider who has 3 weeks experience....... gotta wonder what was running through his head. I run with one guy a lot and he knows my skill level and has watched as ive slowly learned, its nice havin someone to ride with all the time you can trust.

Its in Austin, great road but dangerous.

I dont know how many people I have had to scoop off that road through the years, including myself. I have seen everything from the simple get-offs to the serious Straflighted ones.

I dont ride that road any more, too much traffic and now there are a lot of bike riders going down there on their ten speeds.

ANYONE here that wants to haul down that road that isnt familiar with it, GO SLOW the 1st few times. I have had much faster riders than myself eat out there trying to keep up with me only cause I know that road like the back of my hand.

We see it all the time, the out of towners try and keep up with the locals on that road and the results all too often are not very good.

Oncoming traffic in the wrong lane at the curves is the biggest danger. A buddy tapped a truck with his helmet and left a nice patch of paint on it and a friend and I both scraped a bumper with our right foot when were dicing it up on that road.

I could go on for pages so BE CAREFUL on that road. Three Houston people died on this road last year alone leaving orphan children. We dont need more of that.

I love that road think it is maybe the best road in texas. It rocks. It is dangerous as it can be..horrible runoffs, rock, cactuses etc. but dang it is a rush.ONly thing I don't like is the bicycles I wish I could kick them over. Exit a turn on a knee and the stupid suckers are their in their geigh ***gy outfits going 15mph. I don't care about them at Lance Armstrong can kill my REAL biker . They don't even have a motor what a bunch of fruitloops. Bicycle shorts might as well just say I I dig the freak'n village people. .

fun road, but super treacherous. done it once, i'll go back soon but it won't be at night (fck that). blind uphill/downhill hairpin turns with decreasing turn radii are crazy enough in the daytime. can't imagine doing it at night.

Fun road but I know alot of drifter and autoX fellas that race it too. So, just be aware there are quite a few people out there playing on the road. They actually enjoy doing it after dark since the bicyclists aren't out and you can see headlights coming around the turns.

One of the only jackets with reflective strips I like, and it's sport fit which is MUCH better for me.

P.S. - No pic of the bike, it's pitch black outside and the street lights don't help.

good point. I wonder if I could get away with putting a NO BICYCLIST sign up at the start and finish of the road. Thsoe duds suck I like to buzz them just for scaring me first.
