Just saying 9 seconds is a world of difference when it comes to lap times

It's obvious who the serious trackday riders are, the ones on the 70% side of this poll

So the way you vote on a poll determines whether you are a serious trackday rider? I see you you've done a whopping 6 trackdays - watch out Rossi - he voted SERIOUS

Thats an entirely different context. The YEAR is an important interval in your context, whereas a tenth of a second is important in lap times.

Im honestly surprised at the number of people who have voted for the 1:50 to 1:59... I mean whether you race, or just ride TD's, whether you time your laps or not... it just seems like common sense to me because 9 seconds is A LOT of time! Simple logic

I understand and agree with the low/mid/high statement, but that's not the same subject. If you say you run low 50's to me you are saying you consistently run :50-:53 lap times. If you say you run :50's that means you are consistently running laps around 1:50 with maybe a bad lap or two..

It's a lot easier to just say low/mid/high.. it's less specific and gives you a better buffer for defending your actual times vs what you said but if you're running "mid 50's" and you want to be more specific you should say "I run in the :54 to :55 range"

My $.02

I read the thread before I voted and saw that Brena meant the title to say "high 1:50's" and based my vote on that, however, I'm not a "racer" and don't really give a one way or the other

nope, the way you view what 1:50s laptimes determines whether you are a serious trackday rider, or just not stupid. I'm not arguing with the low, mid, to high argument as an average, buts that not what she told me...she said she runs 1:50s, there was no distinction further than that.

Curt, who have I called out?? Mark - called me out, Sifu - called me out, what else ya got? Have the microwaves from all the tiny gadgets on your bike scrambled your brain? Your true colors are showin', I should have listened the people about them before I guess

And Danny, yes, he got me...it was good

Talk to the mods about that, he asked me where it was this morning and couldn't find it. Just like the other one got locked, they probably didn't want to deal with the drama

Brena - I think the results may have been different had you presented as " One Fifties" in stead of 1:50's. It means the same ,but when you SEE that Zero it leads you down the precision path. The question in my mind is an English/grammar question. I f someone told me they ran in the fifties or were born in the fifties - same deal - it is what it is. If you want more definition - ask. Chase I am certainly not ashamed of when I was born - it was in the fifties - I get the senior discount @ Dennys & I'm old and fat, but can still get my leg over a bike & have fun on the track & street.
