Salvage titled bikes...

If a bike has a salavge title on it, how much is the value decreased? On KBB.com it said the general rule of thumb is take 50% off. That was for cars though.

Can a bike with a salvage title be driven on the street?

I used to know these things until I discovered alcohol.

Yes it can Salvage only means that the ins co has totalled the bike the only down fall is that when you insure it and if you hace a claim they will pay you less than the value of a non salvage title

Salvage titles take about half the value off, yes they an be street ridden, truth is, I just assume have a salvage title motorcycle as any, providing that it was rebuilt right and no frame damage, because I get it for cheaper and it doesn't look any different than a clean title bike.

Put it to you this way, I paid $4,000 for a salvage title GSXR-1000 that had 600 miles on a new motor and it was clean as showroom (minus stock paint) around this time last year.

Ride wise it was perfect, you couldn't find ANYTHING on it to complain about.. how much are 02 gsxr-1000's going for right now a year later with a clean blue title?

It's just something to consider.

the value might be cut in half, but that dun mean that people arent willing to pay for a decent priced bike. And yes, a salvage can be ridden on the streets. a non repairable salvage is the one that cant be
