Too me, the ZX-12R is the best all around "sporty" bike.

Nice, but the ZX12 never appealed to me. Something about it looks wrong to me.

Goldwing but I do like the blackbird too but its not as comfortable. The goldwing you can ride the staights and do the twisties fast in total comfort with tunes...loud tunes to off cops.

NICE! I'm really fond of the look of naked bikes, but every one that I've ridden (which isn't a lot) has me hanging on for dear life at speed due to the lack of wind protection. I think I need to try one that has had the bars dropped.

If you don't mind used, what about a YZF600R? (Last produced in '07.)
I had one a while back and did a few trips with it without any issues at all. (Unlike my 600RR, which kills my feet, hands and wrists after just 30 min.)
Fully adjustable suspension, torquey motor, strong brakes, 417 lbs dry (heavy for a supersport, but the right weight for the sporty side of sport touring, IMO,) 5.0gal tank...

Compared to the Bandit, that would be a down grade...

Either way.. looks like I am getting a 12R so I'll have to live with the decision for now!

The new BMW K1300S

My Vote is for the BMW K1300S awesome bike, took one for a spin this weekend and it is fast, good for the twistie roads, and the suspension was like ridding in a cloud.

I can not describe it, if you ride one you will buy one for sure no doubt.

Bandit 1200S is a great bike
I had an 03 put 36K on it over 4 years often wish I still had it.
Don't be so quick to part with it.
