Dylan, Ormand, and I had a good time. No this year...not even disgusting fat droopy ones from nasty whores. For the best me thinks, maybe.

I went for the first time this year. Actually, this is the first time I have been out there seen Ike came to town. Went to check out the Galveston State Park before heading to the strand. It's a shame, 2/3's of it is gone...just gone. Can never be rebuilt because the shoreline has changed.

We made it out to the Strand around 11am and left around 6. With a break in the middle to do some riding. Didn't care for the vendors much since they cater to the HD crowd. But I did love walking up and down the street looking at all the nice choppers. I have a picture of the largest ape hangers I have ever seen (in which I will post up later)

Someone say tittays? We saw them.....soon as this one bike turned onto seawall from 61st, passenger wasted no time taking her shirt off.

Next year I wouldn't mind staying staying at a hotel on the Strand (not have to worry about driving) so I can get hammered

The ape hangers you see is not an optical illusion. They are higher than 6 feet off the ground. The red/black picture below is the chopper I liked the most out there.

Chronicle says there are something like 400 vendors.

I doubt if there are that many but hundreds for sure.

And the tittays were on display yesterday afternoon and evening. Not much with the top off but a whole lot of nice costumes that put ample bosoms on display.

As for the guy who says F*ck Galveston because there so many cops on patrol on the way down - if they were not there it would be total chaos with everyone racing.

On the way down Friday evening I had a couple of guys on cruisers come zooming up behind us weaving in and out of traffic.

We were in the middle lane and this A$$hat tried to pass me on the left in my lane - between me and a car. STAY THE OUT OF MY LANE.

Anyway, he finally did it - with about two inches between his right hand grip and my left. Then he swerved back at me to let me know what a real A-hole he was. I shook my hand at him and he flipped me off and then he and his buddy took off in front of us.

We got off at Harborside and who should be just in front of us at the light? Yup, the A-hole and his bud. The bud looked back at me and pointed and said something about "that is the guy". The A-hole put his kickstand down and started to get off his bike.

So, in order to avoid a confrontation while my S.O. was on the back with me I went around him on the right and up through the middle of the line of cars to the red light - checked and then went through the light.

When I got to the Strand there just happened to be a cop out in the street directing traffic. I pulled in front of his car and motioned for him to come over and told him what had just happened.

Unfortunately for the A-Hole, between me and S.O. we had a good description of his bike and his gear.

And guess who happened to ride by while we were talking to the cop? Yup, the A-hole and his buddy. We pointed them out and the cop had another cop up one block from him pull them over.

We gave the cop my name and cell number and suggested they might do a sobriety check as this dude was either impaired or maybe just riding while Fookin' Stoopid.

You mess with me and I get a description of you and your A$$ will be reported.

When are you going down? We're about to hit up the grocery store. Once we get done, we're headed back out there again today.

I was forced to go there Saturday as well

Pyrobug asked me at 1am so he could take lilrowdy to her first rally. I had to drag mightmouse on my bike because she has a R1 and its a yamaha(I feel a slap coming)

But seriously, it was packed compared to last year, alot of vendors. I found three vendors I knew from church groups and ran into a dozen or so MHers. Was a nice surprise. For those that were drinking in our group, the stored on the SE side of the strand sold their beer for half price.

There is a parking lot further down from the chimney parking area that I always use on the strand for 5 bux a bike instead of 10.(at the end of 15th)

If you are riding dirty and are dumb enough to head down there, you deserve it. IMHO

one thing I did notice is LOT more people who belong to clubs wearing their colors. Probably saw at least 15-20 different clubs down there.

Shoot, the Bandidos even had their recruiting own booth.

But I have to admit, a group of white haired old folks wearing colors don't exactly create an intimidating image like a group of younger, mean looking folks.

As for the "dirty and dumb enough to ride down there" comment - I suspect the average income of that crowd is WAY higher than the MotoHouston membership average. There were so many $40-60k custom bikes down there.

Thats why Galveston likes the Rally - people with money come down to stay and they spend it while there.

Lots of folks like to change into their leathers and become "Joe Bad Biker" for a weekend instead of "Joe the Orthodontist"..

Every open green space along the Seawall was full of motor homes and campers.
