Riding in Arkansas

So I rode to Arkansas and took some routes recommended by JMac and Thermalser and all I can say is WOW! I didn't know what to expect and it was amazing! The leaves are turning and the roads are righteous. I rode to Hot Springs and then took Arkansas Route (AR) 7 north to Jasper and back to Hot Springs. I also took AR 123 on the way to Jasper (thanks Thermalser). This road is crazy with switchbacks. I then rode over to Eureka Springs taking AR23 (The Pig Trail) and it too was amazing. The weather was perfect (40s-60s).

Total mileage for my very first moto trip: 2,050.

Shaky vid because I forgot my mount at home so I used my gorillapod and my Canon SD1100 and mounted it on my windscreen. I tried to stabilize the video using iMovie on my Mac.

Here is a vid from AR 7 between Jessiville and Ola.

shot late in the day and I was feeling a bit mellow during processing.

I took a bit more artistic slant on this vid of the Pig Trail. I used a filter to make it look cartoony and then used a comic book theme in iMovie.

Thanks to JMac and Thermalser for your suggestions. I will definitely be going to Arkansas every fall if not more!

Yeah I got back last Wednesday. Enjoyed the rest of my week off and this week at work has been busy.

The camera just cannot capture the depth of field. These are rollercoaster type roads. The vids make them look like rolling hills and sweepers.

I had a huge grin the entire time.
