1pc/2pc track/race leathers

Are the protection and quality of the two different? For some reason I think that one piece offers more protection and have a better quality. True or false?

The way I look at it, 2piece just has one more zipper to bust.

I've never ridden with 2piece though, I hear they have better mobility.

My reccomendation:

Racing - 1 piece
Street / track days - 2 piece

1 pc. is safer, but damnit they are a pain to get in and out of.
Just make sure you get a 2 pc with a full circumference zipper if you go that route.

I guess it's a matter of opinions. I have two suits, 1 piece and a 2 piece.

I like my 1 piece for Track Days. I use my 2 piece for the street, I actually bought the 2 pice for TD however I just don't like the hassle of zippering both parts every session for that reason I prefer the 1 piece at the track.

If not mistaken you are entering the motorcycle world, so I think I 2 piece would be fine for the kind of riding you'll be doing for the next few months.

1pc are safer.

Like Scorp said, there are sufficient 2pc designs but not all of them are.

You'll likely spend more for a GOOD 2pc than an equally protective 1pc.

Good luck. Also, good on you for gearing up.

True, ares. 1 piece is better protection, not as usable than a 2 piece though. If you get a 2 piece you can always just wear the jacket and if you want to go track you just attach the pants. Its like a 2 for 1 deal with a 2 piece (track suit/jacket). If you can afford it get a 1 piece and 2 piece.

I see. I was told that 1pc is the only one used for lvl 3+ on the track. Is 1pc the only one accepted for drag strips too?

I prefer a 1 pc in how it fits me. 2 pcs just feel funny to me. Some people are built differently where its the other way around so it just depends I guess on height and body build as well.

I tried wearing a 2 piece suit and it didn't fit right, I bought the pants a size big and they were too tight.

1 piece suit is the way to go
