Uh oh... I see 60% chance of rain on Sunday. Let's hope the weather guys are wrong.

It's Texas...and it's already decreased by 50% since your post.

I'm getting stoked.

I didnt go out Saturday but my buddies drove all the way out and said a bunch of orange covered four wheeler ridin hunters told them the trails were closed for opening hunting season, so I'm not sure about next weekend, but check before you haul.

working on it...left a message with Jason Morton...some head hancho for SHNF multi use trail. I would imagine it was because it was opening weekend. We rode last year during hunting season....nothing like WOT while you see ol Clyde totin' his rifle in his bright orange vest in the distance. I should put antlers on my bars...ok, maybe not.

Not sure where I got this impression but I dont think hunting is allowed around the m/u trails & trailheads. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I'm waiting on a call back...we could always go to Cherokee Cycle Park for those that really want to ride if the trails are closed. I got 0 plans besides this event for next weekend. We can make something work...I'm determined.

It's an hour and a half from NW Houston.... but no worries.

The State Forest guy called me back and said trails SHOULD be open this weekend. Trails were closed last week due to recent rain, not hunting. In fact, he said the trails WILL NEVER be closed due to hunting season. Hopefully they'll be open and we can stick to the original plan.

Where are the rest of the dirty dirt riderz at? HOP, Steptoe, Alonzo lol

Perhaps Outlaw would be a better alternate if SHNF is still out... Same cost as Cherokee, better trails & ten min. from Stubblefield.
