I think I'm sold on a Nightster now. I wonder how it would ride if I decide to keep the mid controls and go with drag bars instead of the mini-apes?

I recently bought a nightster - this thread was a definite factor in that decision - mine came with the stock bars and forward controls - we have another nightster in my family that has mids and mini apes.

Imho apes and forwards or mids and short bars - mixing that up creates a weird riding position.

Top notch bike Nightster Rider - Clean mods and i still dig your hands on approach.

Definitely not trying to threadjack but this is a pic of mine:

My Harley Nightster

I like the pipes that came on it a lot but they are extremely loud. I'd like to hear the V&H some time - may baffle mine eventually

I was against the forwards at first but I'm getting more used to the riding position - originally wanted mids & drags but now I'm really digging the RSD vintage apes - just hard for me to justify to myself $325 for bars without cables.

Soon as the weather cools off and I start riding less I plan to do the tank lift and coil relocate. Did you lose much capacity with the new angle of the tank? Seems like it would be hard to get it all the way full. And its tiny to start with.

Anyway all just my .02. These are great little bikes for sure.

Dude not a problem with you postin pic, i love that paint scheme. I wanted to get that one but it was a couple thousand more for it. I love my V&H they sound just right, not to low and not to high. RSD is very expensive. You can find the same stuff for way cheaper in my opinion, your just payin for the RSD Name. couple easy MODS you can have done in an hour- Flip/Remove Mirrors, Remove Belt Guard, Take off fork reflectors. All these will really make a difference and will only take an hour for all of them

very nice bike and also very tastefully done. I always love to see people whose bikes/cars are built not bought. Major props on the bike. Hope to see it in person one day!
