Scanning Title and Emailing a Copy to Interested buyer

I had someone come by my house to take a look at the bike I have up for sale. He wanted to see the title to see if it was a clear title and if it was under my name. I did not have the title at the house at the time, and had left it at the office.

He had asked if I could scan the title and email it to him so he can see that it is under my name and if everything is fine.

Is there anything on the title that I should black out before sending it to him for security reasons?

only thing i'd give him was the vin #, if he wants to come look at the title, that'd be ok also.

well if he came by ur house he already knows your name and where u live. other than that what other info is there? name, address, mileage, vin, and lienholder. nothing real sensitive if you ask me.

but just to be safe i would black everything except your name and vin#. my .02

put a big stamp "for infomation only" or "scanned copy void"
or something on the scanned pic so it will be null and void

If you agreed to have the title at your first appointment and forgot it, offer to deliver bike and title.
