Racer X never condoned the gravel and yes, he likes pig wrestling.

Thanks for posting about the gravel, it brang up my awarness to be on the lookout. I found no value in the comments about staging a car in the corner though.

I would but what does that have to do with gravel? If there was a car and gravel then even at lower speeds I might wreck because of the gravel and then hit the car. Who knows what might happen we could speculate this or that but at the end of the day the value I got from this thread was that it raised my awareness of gravel in corners and the possibility that there are evil people out there trying to kill bikers.

Although Ed has a very valid point, and I would be highly offended if it were my house getting buzzed weekly, and squids crashing into my yard and destroying my property, it's the job of the LEO to enforce the laws, not ours.

Placing a car in the ROW of a public road may not be a crime in and of itself, but if someone hits said car, then the owner of that hoopty may be liable in a civil court for damages incurred. If it's proven it was placed there as traffic control, criminal charges may follow.

I have seen many land owners do too much stupid stuff to control the speed of Ricky Bobby Racer in the 30+ years I've been on two wheels, and it's just plain lunacy! It's our responsibility as riders to ride responsibly, and respect the laws and privacy of those we scream past weekly. I'm not saying I never did it too, but what I am saying is pick your spots. Do it wisely, and you'll draw far less attention to yourselves, and threads like this will never need to be.

Ask yourself, 'Is the image you project a positive one?' Are you attracting others to this sport? Or are you attracting the attention of Johnny Law? Laws exist because people do stupid things. It won't be long until legislation is passed that will effectively curb our riding. Read about some of the laws passed recently in California concerning bikers riding through the mountains there. They have stings set up there weekly to discourage riders from even coming through there. Think about the law enforcement on the Gap. It's no longer fun to ride The Dragon because ding-dong riders screwed it up for everyone.
