I'm new, let's ride.

I never really introduced myself on this site. I'm the guy that usually just shows up places. My name is Franco. I am a noob but have a great respect for my bike and other riders.

I bought my '09 GSX-R 750 in June before I even knew how to ride it. I never rode any kind of dirt bike or anything, not even a car with a manual transmission. However, I really wanted to learn how to ride so I took it in my parking lot with a friend and barely let go of the clutch until I felt comfortable. (I didn't take MSF cause it didn't fit my work schedule at the time) Ever since then, my life has changed and I will ditch my girlfriend in a heartbeat to go out and ride. My bike is literally right next to me in my living room as I write this. I've been on 3 group rides. I got 3500 miles so far. No track days yet.

If anyone wants to ride, I'm off of work Friday and Saturday. I live in clear lake,, that's southeast. Sunday and Monday, I work very little and will be on the northside. On Wednesday, I'm out in Katy, but can't get out of work until after 8-9pm. I really want to go out to a track soon. If you see me on the street, you'll know it's me cause I still have the ugly fender on my bike and I have that gmax helmet with lights on the back

Hello from a fellow Clear Lake resident. Try and take the MSF even if it means taking a day off. Even though I am an experienced rider I take a course every three years just as a refresher. If there is no ERC, then I just retake a BRC. It also gives a slight insurance discount, plus it's just a good review for street riding. AwesomeCycles is where I have taken two MSF courses, three years apart. It's on the north side of town, but worth the travel. I think the instructors there are superior. I do professional instruction to oil companies as part of my real-life work, and I opine these instructors are some of the best I have seen across multiple disciplines.

I don't know, I posted in the introduction forum, not in the safety forum. I think it's bullshit that I can't get a simple welcome without someone telling me to take a course. I get it, you teach a course and you believe it, does that mean you can't even say hi to me before you lecture me? The more you tell me to take the course, the more I don't want to especially if it's taught by someone like you. I accept the risk, I ride with a helmet. It's been 5 months, 4000 miles...and my bike has never been down. I hope to make that a lot more miles. Maybe you can join me for a few.

hi. its not the point of how well you can ride. msf teaches you how to properly ride in groups such as in a staggered formation. basically the rules and right of ways and laws and such are a bit different for bikes. and are you liscensed? if not, you will have no choice but to take an msf. no m endorsement without it. ?. how old are you?

awesome cycles does. they go over the hand book and its in the book. dot. it discusses who rides what position and who turns first or passes first and what position to assume in a group. they even stagger their starting positions in the parking lot for you to get the feel from the start. they even go over which foot to put down first, lol. simple little things that will make you a better informed rider for everyones safety not just yours.

I know how to ride staggered. I know the hand signals. I'm very well behaved when I ride in a group. I am licensed. Seriously, thank you all for your concern. Maybe we can get a few of you caring individuals to start a collection and get me some leathers. size xxl for a jacket xl for gloves
