People suck at riding motorcyles. I know cuz I used to suck . Now I just kinda suck. but I dont suck so much that I can't make it through the forest or 3090, at 70mph, without crashing.

The difference is that after 1 trip through there, I knew I sucked...so I did something about it and learned to ride my bike.

These people can not turn their motorcycles. And as long as you are towing people, that can not turn their bikes, down a road that has turns, there will be crashes.

I dont think you could go 40mph and not have a crash.

I don't know who it was. I was doing parade laps at MSRH this year when a rider crashed and tore up his plastics.

I have seen several. Which further solidifies my comments that some people suck at riding motorcycles and are in denial about it, until, it is often too late.

All the riders meetings, talks about gear, ego, dangerous corners, pace, etc etc etc wont make someone TURN their motorcycle.

I'll bet that 90% off all teh crashes are people running wide in a corner.

Exactly why I feel any "noob" type ride needs to be kept chill and small and patient. Start slow, pick the less traveled roads, plan shorter rides with good start and end point, and get all the new riders off on the right foot and not in the ditch. Once they get a taste then the itch should set in to try the track.

This also requires enough seasoned riders to stick with the group and offer up pointers and answer any questions.

Before y'all jump on me about not being a class or the proper place, to me I try and learn every time I ride my bike; if nothing else to reinforce what I know is the correct way to do things. Offering to help the noobs is what the riding world should be about...

Acually, I think the last time I watched parade laps was at MSRH and 3 people crashed.

IMO a lot fo the group rides become too large and too spread out.
I prefer to keep the groups below 10 people and actually prefer no more than 6-7.
It makes it easier to work with the inexperienced riders in the group, there's less of a footprint for LEO to take notice, and you get less of a "slinky effect" when passing cars etc..

The regular rides will be popping up now that the track and race season is coming to a close. We'll organize some rides tailored to a broader population, while still accommodating some of the newer riders. Bigger rides are fine... they just need better organization and to be split up into multiple groups with staggered releases.
