Hello everyone!!!

Thought I'd stop by and introduce myself. My name is Randall, and I have just got back into riding about three months ago. After nine years without even touching a bike. Needless to say, I pretty much feel like a new rider these days seeing how much bikes have changed over the past several years. I currently have an '07 GSX-R 600, and compared to the old CBR I used to have..... it's a whole different feel.

Thanks........ I'm trying to enjoy the ride. So much has changed though since my last bike. It didn't take me long to realize how much I hate drivers who text, and talk on the phone. I've always hated them, but even more so when I'm on two wheels. Usually I'm in my truck which is a full size Dodge Ram that is seen, and heard usually. When I'm behind the wheel of that thing I know I'm safe should someone hit me. On the bike it's starting to seem like I'm a target. In the past three weeks I've already had 4 really close calls. All of which included a driver doing something with their phones while behind the wheel.

Oh, btw... here is a pic of my bike

I've only had mine for a short time,.....it's actually the only Suzuki I have ever liked. Seems well balanced, and corners well. All-in-all I'm happy with it with the exception of the exhaust, and the way it looks. Been looking at getting a Taylor Made exhaust for it. I think once I do that I'll be happy with the bike 100%

Hiya and welcome to the family!

Area/time is a large consideration for close calls; but try to assume everyone is out to get you and ride accordingly. It only takes one that you could dodge bring a whole other set a problems then your SO you come home late from riding every time

I'm seeing that there are alot of people in the NW Houston/Willowbrook area. I'm done to take the bike out pretty much any day of the week after I get off work. Or anytime on the weekends....... So if anyone in my area wants to meetup and just hit the road for no reason other than the joy of riding hit me up.

Completely agree with you. I rode an RF600R about 10 years ago, wrecked it and stayed out of the game till recently. I got a cruiser, had it a year then upgraded to an 06 gixxer. Another tip i've learned is, dont just be aware of the vehicles, take a quick glance at the driver. If they're glancing up and down while driving, they're texting. If they're busy in conversation with their driver looking back and forth between them and the road, i avoid them too. Good luck with the close calls, awesome bike! See you on the road.
