So long trackdays and racing...I'm done

Soon I'll be putting up my race bike and enclosed trailer for sale. It's been a fun 7yrs of trackdays and 2.5 seasons of racing (I sat out this year). Got a new hobby that will include friends easier and meet new ones . I don't miss the track now but I'm sure I'll miss it from time to time. Keeping the GSXR street bike and track gear and tire warmers though. Stay safe everyone, no bonehead passes...it's not worth it. You can catch me on this now.

Jebus. You just upgraded from the second most expensive hobby known to man, to the first!

Beat me to it!!! Love the Moomba though.

On that note, anyone want to buy a CWB Marius 134 Plat. w/ Zeus bindings....it's too expensive to do both hobbies....

I've had a couple outboard fish & ski boats but always wanted a v-drive. Got this boat a month ago and already upgraded the ballast to 2600lb bags plus I have extra lead ballast I can add/remove. My buddies already pay $10 per day per person for gas so I don't actually come out of pocket for gas which is a big expense considering I'm averaging 3 days per week on it surfing. At the end of each day everyone helps with wiping down the boat and cleaning/conditioning the interior and that is a huge help and only takes 5 min if 3-4 people are doing it. Trackdays were once or twice a month and I went alone. The boat is weekly and with friends/girlfriend.

Yeah we would work out a deal, where the riders would fill up the boat, but the driver had to put gas in the tow rig. Insurance FTMFW also. Like when you tear out your prop and shaft and it's like a $3K fix.....lol

I will say that the Supra we ride has made for just as good memories as the TD's.

Really nice boat. But if you’re done with the track, why are you keeping your tire warmers? You’ll be back.

I used to have an 18ft Chaparal ski boat several years ago, And did the same thing, Everyone that went paid a portion of the gas and brought food and drinks. The gas was the major portion anyway usually bout $100 for boat and truck before you ever got to the water to have fun. But everyone always wanted to go so it made it fun with friends and family, And everyone always pitched in to help clean and condition the interior. Had many of good times on mine, But when the gas prices started going crazy high I opted to sell it and bought a bike. I sold it for $11,000 and let every peice of equipment go with it so the dude that bought it made out like a bandit. Now it is just sitting there cuz he dont have the time to run it anymore, I miss it but not quite as much as I thought I would. Most imporatnt thing is to make sure you change out the rubber impellor in the water pump every summer, I made that mistake one year and forgot to do it and nearly overheated the boat before I got to run it with friends. It's a must and dont forgoet to do it, Most dealers recomend it to you, And you should every year, It's like $50 to do it but it will save you allot of money if you forget and your out on the middle of the lake and it overheats.

Nice boat!

I'm told the 2 happiest days in a man's life are 1) the day he buys a boat and 2) the day he sells it.

Still have the GSXR street bike so if I get a bug for a trackday I can still roll out on the DOT's. Plus I could sell them since they are Chicken Hawk pole positions

That goes for track bikes and enclosed trailers as well or anything like RV's, quads, dirt bikes, muscle/drag cars, or any other fun AND expensive hobby
