Anyone convicted of illegally racing on a public roadway, a Class B misdemeanor, will have his or her driverís license automatically suspended for one year. Before the license can be reinstated, the driver has to complete 10 hours of community service. Drivers who are racing drunk, who have open containers of alcohol in the vehicle when racing, who seriously injure or kill someone during the race, or who have been convicted multiple times of illegal racing face offenses ranging from a Class A misdemeanor to a second-degree felony (House Bill 1326).

seriously, they have to prove that you were racing. you cannot do this alone. Tell your lawyer that you were testing your car to see how fast it can go.

U must have gotten pulled over by a Harris county shariff. Tough court to beat, they don't play around.

I think the fines are what you are going to be worrying about.
And a long probation period.

I didnt think you could get a court appointed if you could afford bail. Either way your biggest concern other than jail time is losing your license. There is almost no way they will throw you in jail. I would try to say the other cars were speeding so you just did the same. You need to show you werent actually racing. If your attorney is worth a you will get a speeding ticket only. What speed were you clocked at? I doubt they could prove the speed "you" were going. The cop couldnt have clocked each one of you. I would call Kenneth Bradshaw in Pasadena/ Deerpark.

Dude i dont care, get a lawyer if you cant afford one get a court appointed but dont go in there alone. if you do you will be screwed. its always good to have anyone in your corner woth you. you can get it redeued to a class C and time served no fine with a lawyer. or you can get a new best friend out of it........ good luck.

Fines + community service fees + probation fees = sell the vehicle you were racing in.
